Information
Donating companies may receive a dollar for dollar state tax credit of up to 75% of their state income tax liability. Tax credits will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis and will be awarded up to a statewide cap of $50 million. Interested donors must apply for and be approved by the Department of Revenue to make a donation to the GREAT SSO, Inc. Student Scholarship Organization.
Corporate Benefits:
1) The State of Georgia is providing individuals and corporations the opportunity of directing tax dollars to the education of students in the State of Georgia.
2) Press Release opportunity for the act of “donating” scholarship funds to the school and Student Scholarship Organization for the education of Georgia Students.
3) Scholarships can be named in the name of the corporation.
4 Steps to Contribute
1.Complete the Georgia Form IT-QEE-TP1, included in the package of information or available for download:

2. Submit the Georgia Form IT-QEE-TP1 to the Department of Revenue in the envelope included in the package of information or at the address below:

3. After receiving approval from the Georgia Department of Revenue, you will receive a copy of the approved Form IT-QEE-TP-1. This will be your notice to make your contribution to GREAT SSO, Inc. in the amount approved on the Form IT-QEE-TP-1.
4. Within 30 days of approval, send a copy of the approved Form IT-QEE-TP-1 along with the check payable to: GREAT SSO, Inc. and mail to:

GREAT SSO, Inc. will send you a confirmation Form IT-QEE-SSO1 to be filed with your Georgia Income tax return. Taxpayers must add back to Georgia taxable income that part of any federal charitable contribution deduction taken on a federal return for which a Georgia Qualified Education Expense Credit (QEEC) is allowed. Currently, Georgia cannot accept Individual returns claiming the QEEC electronically. Corporate taxpayers can electronically file their return while claiming the QEEP.
